In this scenario, digitalization and the circular economy are the undisputed protagonists. The massive development of disruptive technologies such as applied artificial intelligence, big data and the internet of the things generates a direct impact on the reduction of operating costs, as well as contributing to maximizing the reuse of resources and helping to move towards a circular economy model.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Using artificial intelligence and massive data analysis and better connectivity between value chains makes it possible to make decisi\u00f3n based on more information and, consequently, more efficient and real-time.<\/p>\n

The internet of things together with new monitoring systems, allow interaction with the environment and generate a significant amount of information to represent different scenarios and better relationship between physical and virtual worlds. One of the challenges resulting from its application is integrating predictive analysis in management and operations, transforming Big Data into smart data, which means giving value to data, extracting useful information to generate the necessary knowledge to facilitate decision making.<\/p>\n

The challenges facing the water sector are many and of a different nature from the technological point of view, and, more specifically, from the point of view of reducing losses and making the use of the resource more efficient these can be summarized as the reliability of supply, saving in engineering and operating cost, energy efficiency and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<\/div>
